Sugarpill Chromalust Swatches

I have 6 more Sugarpill Chromalust loose eyeshadows to swatch for you today. After being sucked in by the new spring releases I thought it was time I picked up some older shades that I've been eyeing up for quite a while.

First up is Absinthe, a bright lime with green and gold reflects.

The swatch looks pretty sheer but this shade is easily built up.

Next is Tipsy, a deep shimmering green with green glitter.

Again this seems pretty sheer but easily built up. Some pesky glitter in this one that won't hang around long unless you use a good sticky base.

Here is Darling, a bright teal with silvery shimmer.

I think this is showing up a little more green that it actually is in person. I had to snap this up because this shade is now discontinued
-internal crying-

This is Stella, a matte jet black with tonnes of multicoloured sparkle.
The glitter is green, blue and pink mainly. I had a bit of a problem with this shadow creasing and the glitter almost completely disappearing from my eyes after only a couple of hours wear.

Next is Goldilux, a brilliant metallic gold with gold glitter and probably the most amazing of the Chromalust shadows.
Ahhhh look at that. This is applied dry over primer, but applied wet this stuff turns to liquid metal.

Finally is possibly my favourite, Asylum. Asylum is a metallic bright red.
I've been on the hunt for the perfect red eyeshadow and this is a serious contender. I'd say this is more of a tomato red than a straight up red. It leans more yellow, but I'm not complaining. It is the most opaque of the bunch.

And there we have it, I hope you've enjoyed and thank you for stopping by

Make Up For Ever Artist Shadows

Soooooo Makeup Forever finally launched in Debenhams this week... And of course I tripped, fell and somehow entered my card details...

I bought three shadows, Orange S-732, Tangerine ME-734 and Poppy ME-744.
I also bought a trio palette to put them in.

These babies are seriously pigmented and soooooooo buttery smooth. They have an almost gel texture and glide over the skin like, well, butter. I can't stop staring at these swatches they're just so pretty. The metallic shades were easier to work with than the satin shade on the left which needed building up a little.

Tangerine in the middle is my new favourite orange eyeshadow, and Poppy is the perfect metallic red I've been searching for.

Flamepoint + Orange

I did a comparison of MUFE Orange next to Flamepoint from Sugarpill. Flamepoint is definitely dryer in texture but these two guys are very similar in colour. MUFE is slightly more yellow toned.

I also compared Poppy to the only other metallic red I own, which is Sonic from the Urban Decay Vice 3 palette. This shows how much of a true red Poppy is. I can't wait to use this on my eyes.

And I couldn't help including a photo of my makeup from yesterday. I loooooooove Tangerine so much.

I hope you enjoyed my little review and swatches :D
Thanks for stopping by

NEW 2015 Sugarpill Loose Eyeshadows

Today I'm back with some swatches of a few new loose eyeshadows from Sugarpill ~drool~

'Sparkling shades that outshine them all! These ultra-fine powders combine show-stopping color with a deluxe formula for long-lasting wear.'

Before taking the plunge and buying these shades, I had never tried a loose eyeshadow from Sugarpill before. Loose eyeshadows don't tend to be my thing, but that's purely down to a 'potential for mess' factor. Anyone else have the urge to just blow the powder everywhere?

First up we have Charmy, a shimmering peach with pink and gold reflects.
Charmy swatched next to Kitten Parade from the Sparklebaby palette. After seeing swatches online I thought these two might be a little too similar but I was wrooooong so wrong.

This divine chunky pot of heaven is Penelope, an intense shimmering copper that turns to liquid metal when used wet.

Here we have Countess, a burgundy purple with a blue shift. I wore this yesterday and oh my glob, it was beautiful.

The camera hasn't picked up the blue shimmer too well, boo.

Ahh, Hug Life. I didn't choose the Hug Life...
This is showing up waaay brighter than it actually is. Hug Life is a green teal with gold shimmer.

This swatch is more of an accurate colour, and look at that sheen mmm.

Next is possibly one of my favourites, Clickbait. It's sort of an ugly grey-green mossy colour, which sounds disgusting, but this is one of the best of the bunch and a really unique colour in my collection.

Finally is my ultimate favourite. I knew as soon as I saw it that we would be in love, and I was wasn't wrong. This is Mint Soda, a fabulous limey-olive green with the most stunning golden green shimmer of them all. I just want to roll around in it.

The swatch really doesn't do this colour justice it's so pretty I want to cry... :')

I've had a few episodes of these shadows creasing on my -not very oily- eyelids, and I'm still testing to find out how to make that shimmer stay all day, (sticky primer is probably best) but overall I'm so in love with these shadows at the minute. They're enough to satisfy the maggiest of magpies, it's just a shame I can't get the sparkle to stay.

If you've tried these and have any recommendations of what to use as a base, feel free to leave me a comment :D

On my nails for anyone interested is Beach Hut from Models Own.

Swatches are over AVON Eyeshadow Primer although I use MAC Painterly Paint Pot on my eyes.

I paid for all of these myself! And maybe my lovely boyfriend chipped in (hello). I buy through Cocktail Cosmetics in the UK, they are my weakness.

Thank you for reading and follow me! It's free and there might be cake...

MAC Burgundy x 9 dupes

I'm a makeup hoarder. There, I said it.

When I discovered that MAC were bringing out some new permanent eyeshadow palettes you know I was allover them like a rash. The ones that caught my eye were Burgundy x 9 and Amber x 9, and today I'm going to be sharing some dupes that were already hiding in my stash.

Oh and I should probably say all of these swatches are on bare skin, no primer or nuffin!

The shadow that made me need the MAC palette was Sketch, which in the pan is pretty much identical to Cherry Cordial from Too Faced.

Sketch and Cherry Cordial swatched side by side. Sketch is on the left and looks a lot more purple in tone than Cherry Cordial which is a very reddy-burgundy.

Next is my FAVOURITE Urban Decay eyeshadow ever, Nooner, and his MAC counterpart, Haux.

These two looked really similar in the pan but Nooner comes off slightly more pink when swatched. Haux is on the right.

Next we have Amaretto from Too Faced and Antiqued from MAC.

In the pan these two looked exactly the same, but swatched Antiqued is much more orange and Amaretto is brown with an amber sheen.

#Noir next from MAC next to Black Forest Truffle from Too Faced.

It's more apparent in this photo that these too aren't the most identical of twins, but they are definitely related.
Black Forest Truffle is swatched on the left.
(Can we take a minute to appreciate Antiqued?! Mmmmm)

Finally, I thought I'd include a last pair that aren't really dupes but are pretty similar.
Here's MAC Honeylust and Too Faced Marzipan.

These two are the same colour, the real difference is in the texture of the shadows. Marzipan is really smooth and lovely, whereas Honeylust is kind of... not. It's really chunky and full of glitter, probably best used over a sticky base.

And there we have it! 5 dupes within two palettes that I already owned.
Did I really need this palette? Judging by these dupes, probably not, but this is a welcome addition to my collection and can we just stop again to talk about how beautiful Antiqued is?! Ahhhh... okay I'm done now. Thanks for stopping by!
